Digikam 2.2.0 is now available for Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric) on my
"extra" PPA on Launchpad. The package is now just "digikam" and not the old "digikam2" naming. For anyone interested in backend stuff my build use libgphoto for PTP-support and OpenCV 2.3.1. Otherwise it's about the same as the official package only a newer version. It's also important to know that my Digikam is built to use the bleeding edge version of libkipi (libkipi8) and libkexiv (libkexiv2-10) that are bundled with Digikam and not the stock versions of these libraries that comes with standard KDE. So if you update KDE and start using it without these packages from me then Digikam might stop working. So look if there is a rebuild from me of these before you update KDE so you know that you will be able to continue use my Digikam packages. Happy digikaming! /Philip _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I just installed Digikam 2.2.0 from your PPA on Oneiric. It worked (I just had to remove libkface-1 manually before because I had the message: libkface1: Is in conflict with: libkface-1 but 2.0.0-natty~ppa7 is installed). Thanks Philip. Really happy to say that it was without pain that my Digikam 2.2.0 was installed in 11.10 KDE on my desktop just waiting for download of material from Philip site. Nothing to delete, nothing to care about, just as a mediocre user like me expected.

Digikam 2.5.0 is now available for Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric) on my

Hi Philip,
Does this mean that your binary package for Oneiric does not work when I use the standard Ubuntu 11.10 environment with Unity? Or will it work with Unity? Thanks in advance. It will work as it should for you. It's just some people who want to be cutting edge and install the upcomming KDE 4.8 that is in release candidate state that might get into trouble with my digikam packages. That is something that you actively must have choosen to do so if you don't know what it is then it doesn't matter for you. /Philip On Jan 4, 2012 1:59 PM, "Axel" <[hidden email]> wrote:

I didn't get time to package it for natty tonight so it will have to
wait until tomorrow but for natty it will be for both kde 4.6 and 4.7 as before on natty but with kde 4.7 you will also need my other PPA. /Philip 2012/1/4 Mark Fraser <[hidden email]>: > On Wednesday 04 Jan 2012 11:30:41 Philip Johnsson wrote: > >> I could do it this evening as you request it. :) > >> > >> /Philip > > > > Is that for KDE 4.6.x or KDE 4.7.x? > > > _______________________________________________ > Digikam-users mailing list > [hidden email] > https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users > Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Digikam 2.5.0 packages will be available any minute now on my PPA for
Ubuntu 11.04 Natty. If you use the official KDE 4.6 packages that comes with Ubuntu 11.04 then you only need my "extra" PPA. If you use the Kubuntu teams PPA with KDE 4.7 then you will need both my "extra" PPA and my "kubuntu-backports" PPA. This only matters if you use Ubuntu 11.04.
