Marcel, another bugs :

- Copy and paste between icon view does'nt work. You can copy, but
paste do nothing. I have not yet tested with tree view.

- View/Include Album sub-tree work only if you restart digiKam : I
must done effect immediately...

Yes, GIT is the best. Really when I have to work with SVN, it feels like it is
no version control system at all :D
I hope KDE repo will be GIT soon.

From where to where? Copying Ctrl+C in one album and pasting Ctrl+V in another album works here. Pasting in dolphin works as well.

I have made a few patches to shift+click selection, I think it works now, hope all other forms of selection still work.
Btw this is a bug in KCategorizedView, take dolphin, switch on View->Group Items, shift+click and enjoy block selection mode ;-)

1/ Go to album. make selection of icon view items
2/ copy using only pop-up menu
3/ go to another album.
4/ paste to album icon view using only pop-up menu...

Bugzilla from andi.clemens@gmx.net
In reply to this post by Marcel Wiesweg
Marcel,

I can select normal now, and also the first item is selectable (like I told
you in private mail). But it still crashes.
Open some album in recursive mode (or goto tags view).
Now select the first item, then the second, then the first again, the second
etc...
After 10 clicks I get the crash I sent you by mail.

Marcel,

I currently work on my last shot taken at Salagou Lake (near
Montpellier - a very very nice place)

When i move items by drag and drop using treeview from an album to a
sub-album (album is parent of sub-album and i use recursive icon
view), digiKam crash like this :

The backtrace indicates it was after a drag+drop. I think you clicked fast and inadvertently start a drag. Can you reproduce this when dragging an image a short way and then dropping? I cannot, but I will investigate if the relevant code works.

One more "off one" issue:

digiKam updates state of filter "live". It means that if you have eg 10 images
with comment "XSane" and you filter with this word you will see those 10
images.

After removing of XSane from comment this image will vanish and only nine will
stay. But now this image isn't removed it stays until comment will be removed
from next image. Then first image vanishes and 9 images stay - again first
image already without comment.

Hope that I didn't complicated things hopelessly :)

Another minor issue:

When I go into the tagview and delete some images in there (to trash, not
permanently), the tag counter is not updated.
But if I restore these files from the trash again, it is updated.
So it seems that only adding files / tags is updating the counter, removing is
not.

Try: fast transform to double of target size, then final step immediately with smooth transform. Quite fast and still good quality.

Whoops ;)

Sorry, failed test with a mail program on an Android device. I tapped the
wrong email for reply.

Actually, this comment was towards the patch for thumbnail generation and
display speedup. It's a trick I learned some time ago. Since SmoothTransform
is slow on large images, first use FastTransform to resize to about double the
target thumbnail size. Then, in a second step, resize to the final dimensions
with SmoothTransform. The resulting thumbnail is of good quality and the
operation is quite fast because the second step is done on a reasonably small
image already.

You don't need to close digiKam, at least for me it is enough to disable the

But yes problem is still there.
