Hi
Has digikam dropped this feature? I know it's a KIPI plugin - but KIPI appears to be fully installed? or my dist doesn't include that plugin? Using Kubuntu 10.10 Digikam 1.4.0 KDE 4.5.1 Thanks in advance for any help & thanks digikam devs for a wonderful app! :) DIL23 :) _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Yes, this feature is dropped. The old KDE3 kipi-plugin have never
ported to KDE4. You must found an alternative to do it. Gilles Caulier 2011/3/23 DIL23 <[hidden email]>: > Hi > > Has digikam dropped this feature? Thanks Gilles
open to ideas folks! Ideally I'd like to put it on DVD/CD and as 'playable/portrable' as possible? :) DIL23 :) On Wednesday 23 Mar 2011 10:29:02 Gilles Caulier wrote: > Yes, this feature is dropped. you cannot encode in MPEG with K3B, but you can backup files or albums
on DVD like this using D&D Gilles Caulier 2011/3/23 DIL23 <[hidden email]>: > On Wednesday 23 Mar 2011 11:45:41 jdd wrote: >> Le 23/03/2011 12:37, Gilles Caulier a écrit : >> > Simple way : Open K3b and drag & dop from digiKam to k3b project. >> >> data project? if so it rely on the reader >> >> thanks >> jdd > > Just had a look at K3B & I can't see a way to make a 'show' > > Ideally I would like to make a show with transitions, frame rates/display > times, maybe sound etc into one video(?) file that would work on most systems > be uploadable to YouTube/Vimeo or similar. > > Thanks for your replies > > DIL23 > :) > _______________________________________________ > Digikam-users mailing list > [hidden email] > https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users > Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Just to add a "me too" - I have for some time been looking for something like a "slideshow with sound" feature. More precisely, I'd like to produce a kind of "movie", bundling sound and (synchronised!) slide show, playable on computers (and possibly on DVD players). The problem is not to produce something like this with standard tools: ffmpeg, for example, can produce movies from jpg files. The actual problem is to keep the file sizes small. Standard movie encodings (mp4, avi, ...) are obviously optimised to deal with moving pictures, not (mostly static) slide shows. I'd like to have a frame rate of 1/5 or 1/10 (that is, a new picture every 5 or 10 seconds), and ideally a movie file that isn't (much) bigger than the picture files I start with (plus audio file, of course). Any suggestions? I'd prefer standard tools/file formats over a customised mp3-format with customised mp3-player ... I can do because I have a HD monitor. that said ffmpeg can do this (including with the low framerate, I think), and almost any linear video editor can do (kdenlive to keep staying on kde) the mpeg compressor should take care of compression, eventually modifying the gop size jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xgxog7_clip-l-ombre-et-la-lumiere-3-bad-pigeons_music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGgv_ZFtV14 _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm thinking I should: dvd-slideshow
(availible in ubuntu repos) http://jcornuz.wordpress.com/2008/01/22/producing-a-dvd-slideshow/ Seems pretty simple, but I'll let you know if I get around to testing later today. If you want to run the slide show just on your computer, having
installed a web server like apache, or on an external webserver, then you could use jalbum (jalbum.net) together with the "Fotoplayer" plugin. This is free software and has almost all the features you want, including audio files. It is almost ideal for producing web presentations of photos.
