And I'm currently testing ffDiaporama that seems really amazing: http://ffdiaporama.tuxfamily.org/
From what I know, the developper has worked for the Videoporama team before choosing to create his own softaware. But ... it is in french, and I don't think it has been translated to english yet. Hi Marie-Noëlle,
Thanks for the tip! It´s nice if we can give each other this kind of info here. I never heard of it before and at first site it looks a nice and very handy tool. But it looks there is no zooming and panning option, right? Rinus Op 02-07-11 16:17, Marie-Noëlle Augendre schreef:

I found it just yesterday on the French Fedora forum.
I'm not sure about what panning is ... For zooming, I understand you have to add a block in your slide in order to define what the final view is; for zooming, it'll be some part you've croped from the original picture. Then the application will zoom automatically from the initial view to the cropped one. Hope this helps, Marie-Noëlle -- Une galerie photos, un blog ... pourquoi pas ? Ok Thanks, after all it is possible than. Panning is moving the picture around. If you only zoom you go to the center of the picture, combined with panning you can -while zooming- end up at whichever part of the picture you want. Go to shut down. Wish all of you a very nice summer. Rinus

From what I understand, it is quite easily done: - insert the starting image as a slide - in this slide, add a "plan" (don't know how it is called in the english version, may be "set") - crop this "plan" to the part you want it to end and that's it. As I haven't used any other software to do slideshows, so I can't compare with anything else.
