Hello,
I have many photo collections on a 4Tb external usb drive. This one is only mounted when necessary. 1) unlike Dolphin, Digikam is not able to mount the drive "on demand" I have first to open any folder in dolphin, then start digikam. 2) Digikam starts scanning all the disk collection automatically, even when there is no change. This takes around *one hour*! is there a way to prevent digikam from scanning the disk? thanks jdd _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I use the German version, here it can be set to: "Sammlungen auf Wechseldatenträgern" cu Peter _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I believe that if you tell to your system about auto-mounting the drive, next time it will be sufficient to get it ON and then start digikam with all things working. Please pay attention, my database is not running on the usb drive but in my home directory. That's the way my system works. 2014-10-15 13:05 GMT+02:00 jdd <[hidden email]>: Hello, _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I had a problem with digikam 3.5 and upgraded which brought an update of kde (now) to 4.14.2. It works on my computer without causing any trouble. Negative may be the frequent kde updates (today around 130). It is obviously work in progress. You also get rid of nepomuk, it is replaced by baloo, which can easily be switched of;-) cu Peter _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
