selecting albums

fch22
Hello

I'm using DK 5.7.02 and still really appreciate it (thanks to all the
contributors) and still learning all its capabilities.

one question concerning the way I can select albums in different tools
(like people search, duplicates,...). seems the only possibility is to
select all the desired album one by one ( or all) and in particular ,
when selecting a collection doesn't includes all the albums of this
collection. Am I right ?

may be I can suggest some improvements for a further version. If it
makes sense, I can create tickets in the bug tracker:

-  possibility to include sub-folders within an album

- possibility to select a collection

- possibility to define exclusions (typically  I have sub-folders when
I'm saving originals that I don't want to delete, but on which I don't
want to run face recogniation)

- possibility to define filter to select albums,...

Just my 2 cents

Use contextual menu over album tree view. There are many option available to perform advanced selection.

This is actually possible. Digikam folders are normal directories on
your hard disk, so you can simply create a new folder using any file
explorer, or, in DK, right-click on a folder in the folder view, and
select "New ..." from the context menu.

Hi Gilles

thanks !

that answer all my question

I just another question where I would need your advice. As said I use to crdate a sub-folder named Originals (coming from Picasa I was using before moving to DK)  whare I'm moving some originals pictures or some that I don't want to see in the album, but that I don't want to delete (I don't like deleting any pictures !).

I know we can define rule to exclude those files from DK, but then I'm no more able to drag and drop pictures in such folder (as no more visible)

so any advice on how to manage pictures in such case ?

thanks

Use dolphin open on you Originals directory, which still outside DK collection.

From DK, drag and drop files over Dolphin, to move to Originals directory.
