release plan for 1.2.0

Which release plan do you want for 1.2.0 release, about album treeview
model view port ?

I want also personally port preview widget to pure Qt4 with this release...

What do you think about 1.2.0 release in 2 month ?

I would wait for the first user comments after merging back to trunk.
Right now I have the feeling that there are not that much regression
bugs but who knows. ;) If there aren't many bugs we could plan a fast
release to my mind otherwise not. ;)

There are two open issues from my point of view:
1. The Camera UI needs a model behind the icon view which could be a lot
of work and I don't know when and how this should be done
2. I would really argue, that the complete source code needs to be
restructured into folders that a) reflect the purpose of the classes and
b) make clear, which file belongs to which library and how the
dependencies work. I had so many problems finding out which file is in
which library and for what reason and the digikam-folder is so bloated...

I would propose to merge the model/view branch as soon as possible - tomorrow,
next days. (maybe I misunderstood the message a few days ago). Any problems
can be reported as bugs. It's normal to create bugs when developing after all
;-)

In the two weeks afterwards we can have a look at Holger's database branch. I
propose to merge if major regressions are fixed, but a bit of careful testing
is needed for this branch. Code tends to go bad and mould if lying in a branch
for too long ;-)

This can be done in a second time, as with 1.3.0 release. I know that
Marcel has planed to work on this part too.

I'm totally agree. I would to do it since a long time, without to find
right time. After merging model view branch is fine for me.

Maybe we should also wait for the mysql branch, if integration into
trunk doesn't take too long.

I recommend to merge both into 2 step :

1/ First model-view (done). Post an announce to users for testing
regression and wait a little bit, for ex one or two weeks.
2/ Second Mysql port, Post another announce to users to be ready for
1.2 release.

In both case, create a little page to digiKam.org to explain what's
news in source code and which parts need to be tested by users for
regression checks.

Ok, i see,

I think these view is obsolete now. I don't use it anymore. all is
posted to automatically by RSS flux.

I never tried to remove this view yet.
