having a problem in viewing the images

Sayantan Datta
i cannot view the files in the directory after the load of digikam. Please help. What settings do i have to change?

i have been trying for over a month now, and i am stuck up.

dolphin? Attach a screenshot.

images are not visible/cannot be viewed from digikam.
they "are" seen from dolphin.
the files exist in the director /home/sayantan/Pictures

i tried deleting the .db files and restarting digikam again, without any success! :(

KDEDIR. KDE cannot strat process relevant. These one are used to query
DB in thread safe mode.

Similar errors occurred with the previous git and tarballs, so this install was the normal repository install by
yum install digikam

in the other cases, this all i did was install the supporting packages, and then cmake and make install digikam, nothing more or less.

Should i download the git repo again and build it, if it helps?

hmm,  removed the installation through

It says i do not have libkipi installed,
CMake Error at extra/kipi-plugins/CMakeLists.txt:88 (MESSAGE):
   kipi-plugins needs libkipi. You need to install the libkipi (version >= ) library development package.

on the other hand, while trying to install libkipi, it says, 
Package libkipi-4.9.2-1.fc17.x86_64 already installed and latest version
Package libkipi-devel-4.9.2-1.fc17.x86_64 already installed and latest version
Nothing to do

In a fix, please help me out. :)

Problem solved. I used the internal version of the libraries. :)
