group batch-processed images with originals

karsten_df
hi all, I'm looking for a more handy process for batched picture corrections. Here's what I'd like to do: - batch process some pictures, e.g. to auto-level - group the modified pictures with the originals So far I've not found a way to (semi-) automatically perform the 2nd step. How could it be done? - a slightly more advanced 'group selected by filename' context menu command could allow configuration of the file name commonality required, e.g. accept name.ext and name_v1.ext as being same filename (there was a discussion at http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/Group-by-filename-td4675870.html#a4675871) - or a way to change the extension during batch process renaming such that original and renamed files would be grouped by the existing 'group selected by filename' context menu command Or is there already a possibility to do this grouping that I was too blind to see? regards - Karsten

2nd try..
I'm looking for a handy workflow for batched picture corrections.

Here's what I'd like to do:
- batch process some pictures, e.g. to by doing auto-auto-level
- (semi-) automatically group the modified pictures with the originals,
  with modified pictures on top.

So far I've not found a way to perform the 2nd step. Any ideas how this could be done?

Dear Karsten,

Sorry for coming up that late.
However, I think I have posted something more or less similar to your
request based on former suggestions from other DigiKam users. Please
see: https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/digikam-users/2016-November/022909.html

Best,

hi NeiNei,

thank you for you the information. Maybe you've also seen the discussion at  http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/Group-by-filename-td4675870.html#a4675871 - the functionality suggested there would also allow to group pictures based on the similarity of names, e.g.
- imagexxxx.jpg
- imagexxxx-v1.jpg
could be grouped automatically, in a similar way imageyyyy.jpg and imageyyyy.raw can be grouped with the 'group by name' context menu function.

regards -
