[digikam] [Bug 348756] New: Crash on Startup

John Moore-2
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348756

            Bug ID: 348756
           Summary: Crash on Startup
           Product: digikam
           Version: 3.5.0
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: grave
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Database
          Assignee: [hidden email]
          Reporter: [hidden email]

New installation of 3.5.0 on Kubuntu 14.04.2 (LTS).
Crash occurs while splash screen displays.  I believe the top line on the
splash says "Reading database."
Happens every time.  I have purged the install and reinstalled with no change.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click icon to start digikam
2. Note splash screen appears
3. See C rash Assistant appear

Actual Results:
Splash screen displays a number of legends.  At "Reading database" application
crashes

Expected Results:
Opened the main application window and worked.  Incidentally, Showfoto (also
newly installed) does work.

Application: digikam (3.5.0)
KDE Platform Version: 4.13.3
Qt Version: 4.8.6
Operating System: Linux 3.16.0-38-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS
-- Backtrace:
Application: digiKam (digikam), signal: Segmentation fault

Probably fixed. You use a very old digiKam release. We are in 4.10.0 now.
Please update and try again...
