I have digiKam 6.0.0 installed on a Dell Latitude E6520 with 64 bit Win 7 Pro SP1, i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, NVIDIA 4200M Graphics adapter.
If I go to Settings/Configure digiKam/Templates: 1. Enter Template Title in Template Title Field, click on OK. Open Templates again and title field is empty. 2. Select Country from drop down list, click on OK. Open Templates again and country is reset to first in list (Aruba) Have I missed something? I checked the Bug reports at https://bugs.kde.org/component-report.cgi?product=digikam and did not see any entry about this issue. Should I file a Bug report? |
With the Windows pre-release version of digiKam-6.2.0 I can not find any
problems creating or applying templates here. Please test it with this version from here: https://files.kde.org/digikam/ Maik Am Donnerstag, 25. That dialog allows you to create or edit one or more templates, to be applied to various images. So you fill out the dialog and store it when you click OK. Previously created named templates are listed in the list at the top of the dialog, click on one from that list and you should see the previously entered values for that template. Open the dialog from the main window, and you get just the list of previoulsy defined templates. All the fields below are blank, as you didn't select a template to edit. Remco |
1. I don't agree that the exhibited behavior is correct. See attachment, which describes my attempt to create a template step-by-step for my reasoning. Perhaps I am missing something. 2. I downloaded v. 6.2 but I have not yet installed it. When I started the installation a message was displayed that read, in part: "Important: database schemas can be upgraded between major releases, so it's recommended to backup all database files . . . ." I am not sure where those database files are located. I found this: Program Files/digiKam/digikam/database/dbconfig.xml. Is that the actual database file that I need to backup? If not, where is the database file located? In that same folder is also mysql-global.conf. Does that also need to be backed up? To me, it looks like the *intended* behaviour though. Whether that behaviour is "correct" depends on your point of view, I guess. The "OK" button saves the changes and closes the dialog, next time you open the dialog, it's a fresh start. If you want to edit a previously created template, you have to select it in the list at the top first. The "template title" field being empty might be taken as a hint that you are not working on the previously created "Template test" template... > 2.
