Near the standard Windows installer. There are archive to uncompress in your home directory. You will found a Digikam.exe Le ven. 27 déc. 2019 à 18:08, Milind Joshi <[hidden email]> a écrit :

You may find useful the forum topic on digiKam at PortableFreeware.com. It

Thanks Giles and Stephen for pointing me to the portable version.
Does that mean that I extract the contents of the temp folder in the archive digiKam-7.0.0-beta1-20191227T151506-Win64.tar.xz to my USB drive and during set up point it to my digiKam data folder from the 6.2 installation? How do I migrate other settings from the 6.2 version to the 7.0.0 version? Stephen, do I still need your batch file? mj On 27.12.2019 06:59 PM, Stephen Leibowitz wrote: > You may find useful the forum topic on digiKam at PortableFreeware.com. You may use a *Win.exe file, not a tar.gz one. On Sat, Dec 28, 2019, 8:06 AM Milind Joshi <[hidden email]> wrote: Thanks Giles and Stephen for pointing me to the portable version. |

My batch file is useful if you want to run digiKam from a thumb drive or
other removable storage. digiKam does not write to the Windows registry. Instead, its settings are stored in the digikamrc file. It normally stores that file and others at C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\digiKam My batch file uses an environment variable to redirect that folder to the removable storage. There is also the issue of the storage locations for the image and database files, as drive letter assignments can change for removable drives. My forum post at PortableFreeware.com discusses this in more detail. Some users may want to store the image, and even the database files, in the cloud, instead of on removable storage. You can map a cloud storage space to a drive letter that digiKam can access. Windows has the Map Network Drive facility and the Net Use command. Some cloud providers have their own utilities. -- Sent from: http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digikam-users-f1735189.html |
OK. Understood. I normally don't use it from a USB but run it from a
local disk on my Windows machine. I prefer portable so that I do not have to install it every time. I guess I can copy the digikamrc file from my installed version to the portable installation to copy my options. BTW, I googled a bit and came across this site which hosts a portable version of digiKam 7.0.0 beta1. https://foxxapp-paf.blogspot.com/2019/12/digikam-portable-beta.html Apparently, it follows the same paf format as PortableApps platform and also installs to the PortableApps directory. A virus check did not show any threats. Is this a genuine port of digiKam? Have not executed it yet. Just want to make sure! mj On 28.12.2019 01:52 PM, Stephen Leibowitz wrote: > My batch file is useful if you want to run digiKam from a thumb drive or > other removable storage. digiKam does not write to the Windows registry. > Instead, its settings are stored in the digikamrc file. Hello!
I'd like to try out the new face detection function. I rescan all faces (many time) form the people tab ("scan collection for faces"), and run the recognize faces too (many times with different settings, even with reteach too), but no new image in the "unconfirmed" folder. How can I run the new (deep learning) recognize on the unknown faces? Thanx Csaba |
I think this problem was recently found and fixed by Maik. Please try the current daily bundles available here : At least, Windows and MacOS version are up to date. Linux bundle is a little bit outdated, i'm not sure if it include this fix. Gilles Caulier Le dim. 29 déc. 2019 à 13:21, Tóth Csaba <[hidden email]> a écrit : Hello! |

I would not trust a 3rd party host like foxapp-pag or portable apps myself. I have nothing personal against either one of them you just can be 100% sure what they do to the applications there. What if they add a malware or a tracker or something else? Again, I am not saying that is what is happening I just don't trust 3rd party hosts. Perform a new build of the training data by activating the checkbox and
starting a run. Then try to recognize faces again, set the accuracy to a value between 50-80. Maik Am Mittwoch, 1. Hello!
Still trying.. digiKam-7.0.0-beta1-20200102T060110-Win64.exe I try to set up the detect faces: "clear unconfirmed results and rescan" with "detect faces" and the accuracy 60% with and without "clear and revuld all training data" no new result (but there is tons of not detected faces) and the same settings the "Recognize faces", still no new result. If I run "detect faces" on a picture, what settings will be used? (not found faces too) Thanx Csaba On 2020-01-01 11:34, Maik Qualmann wrote: > Perform a new build of the training data by activating the checkbox and > starting a run.
