Such repositories are maintained by third parties, and the Digikam developers have no relation with them, and no influence on when they will pick up the new version. So packaging for your distro usually takes some time (from days to weeks, depending on the distribution/packager). In the mean time, you could try to grab the appimage or flatpak. Those are (afaik) prepared and maintained by the digikam developers. Remco |

As a Mint user, you will probably have to switch to the AppImage or similar.
Remember digiKam-5.6.0 is 3 years old, in between there were 8 stable versions. Calculate when Mint is at digiKam-7.0.0. Maik Am Freitag, 24. I've been using Mint and DigiKam for a long time. Just download the AppImage, edit the properties to allow it to run, and that is it, it just works. I am currently on Mint 20 with DK 7 AppImage working fine Mick On 24/07/2020 19:23, Ramnarayan.K

Hi Chris thanks I will do so - while waiting to upgrade the whole OS to Linux Mint 20 *** meanwhile if there is a List Admin reading this - my messages are bouncing with a "reply as quoted below "Your mail to 'Digikam-users' with the subject Digikam does not show images by Tag Is being held until the list moderator can review it for approval. The reason it is being held: Post by non-member to a members-only list" On Mon, 27 Jul 2020 at 19:48, Chris Green <[hidden email]> wrote: Jack Marxer <[hidden email]> wrote: |
