[digiKam-users] Problem with duplicates

Chairman.Faust
After moving some files around both inside and outside digikam, I decided to
delete all my the 'People' tags that I had made while testing out the face
recognition. The problem is that even after going through all the database
maintenance tools (scanning, cleaning, rebuilding), digikam still shows up
to 6 copies of files when only 2 are real... even the rename tool is aware
of this...  see inserted images...

The extra duplicates only seem to exist in the 'People' tag collection...
in the example photos, I have 2 copies of each... one unprocessed and one
processed... where its getting the others from is a mystery to me

This may seem kind of obvious, but have you checked if you have write
permissions to those files?

From the image, I see that these "zombie" pictures are part of the "Unknown"
tag (meaning that digikam has detected faces but they have not been
identified/recognized), which is a special tag in digikam and might not
reflect changes from the filesystem.

Can you make sure that these pictures are still in the filesystem? If they
aren't, I guess you can just delete them from the Unknown list.

Which digiKam version do you use? Before digiKam-6.1.0, there is a possibility
that a deleted item in the DB will appear in a search.

Re: Problem with duplicates

Chairman.Faust
At the time I did not have anything tagged yet, but even after tagging there
are still extra copies being shown... instead of 6 under 'unknown' I have 3
under the correct people tag and 3 that are tagged but under the 'unkown'
tag... there should only be 2 total...

see attached:

As for versions, I'm running digikam v6.1.0, MariaDB 10.3, and windows 10
