Hi,
Using Digikam from digikam-6.4.0-x86-64.appimage on Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon; Digikam displays accented Icelandic letters, but I'm unable to insert any such in any input-box. This is most annoying when inserting tags or template information. Must be missing some locale- or keyboard-setting. Previously, when fiddling with themes or locale settings, I'd install systemsettings and perhaps kde-config-somepakcage and solve the issues graphically. But these days the KDE System Settings only has some networking modules. Does anyone know which package (in Mint/Ubuntu) contains the Regional Settings and/or keyboard related modules for KDE System Settings? Does it work with the appimage? best, Sveinn í Felli PS: ~$ localectl status System Locale: LANG=is_IS.UTF-8 VC Keymap: n/a X11 Layout: is X11 Model: pc105 |
Hi,
Before to complain about the KDE system settings, try to reproduce the problem with another desktop as Gnome for ex. Just to be sure that something is missing in your Plasma installation. There is no Plasma installation, just the dependent packages drawn in by
the installation of the 'systemsettings' package. This used to be enough, plus some of the 'kde-config-*' packages (respective CP-modules), but now I'm asking if anyone knows which package (for debian-derivatives) would provide the locale/keyboard modules. It is a known problem that has been reported in the bugtracking system and
it's still present in the last 7.0.0-rc appimage: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406583 -- Sent from: http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digikam-users-f1735189.html |

Yes, this is what I experience, but it happens also in templates and other input text. So it may be rather a QT problem. Sveinn |
