[digiKam-users] Face-tagging corrupts some pictures

Julien Coubronne
Hello,
I just tried to use the feature "face recognition".

After a long analysis of a folder, I started to tag the faces identified.

During this process, several pictures were corrupted (not all). The corrupted pictures show up (as thumbnails) in the view, but their properties show "0B" (both in Digikam and Dolphin), and I cannot open the pictures.

Is this a known bug ?
Is there a way to recover those files ? (I have a backup, however I don't how how to recover only those files).

Best regards,
Julien

Not at all.

Sound like an Exiv2 issue which write metadata in image. The face region is recorded in XMP.

Which Exiv2 version do you use. Look in Help/Components Info for details.

Also, which kind of image ? JPEG ?

Can you provide a sample file, before and after the corruption ?
