I reply to myself: I edited the digikam4.db file, went to the "Search" table
and observed that there were around 11700 saved searches in there, most
likely matches when finding duplicates. I deleted all these rows from the
database (except for the searches I created manually) and now digikam works
again.
I guess it can't handle so many duplicates.
