Hi,
While still using the 5.6 version of DK, I thought to give the 6.0.3 appimage a try. All seemed to go smoothly until I wanted to open a raw image in rawtherapee. The "open as" window was empty which it was, and in the 5.6 version still is, fully loaded. I've put a screendump with the window and the expected contents at https://www.flickr.com/photos/jondor/48750335163/in/photostream/ The pulldown only shows, what I can only assume to be a history of previous used searches and nothing more. I guess this is not expected behaviour, any suggestions on how I can get my list of available apps back? Gerhard -- https://gerhardhoogterp.nl/ |

Are you comparing a 5.6 version from your distribution repository with the 6.3 appimage? Look here:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402620 Here under openSUSE all programs are also available in the AppImage. Not for other desktop environments. The cause of the problem in newer AppImage has not yet been found. Maik Am Dienstag, 17. Yeah, appimage works that way on Ubuntu I think. That is why I went to KDE Neon, they always have latest digikam in their repos. 6.0.3 and 5.9.0 are very different under the hood. I noticed differences even between 6.0.2 and 6.0.3 You can still open with RawTherapee from digikam, just type it in. Maybe one day someone will write a plugin that Exports to RawTherapee. Maybe something like what Hugin does can be of interest. Hugin asks which RAW processor user wants to use (dcraw, darktable, etc.) Since there are many digiKam users that prefer external raw processing tools maybe it would make sense to add a setting on that and let each user select their raw processor and point to the file (e.g. c:\users\username\darktable\darktable.exe) Just an idea. But for now I would be happy if the 6.x (or the appimage versions there off) would just show the available software under "open as" as the 5.x series did. I'm fairly easy to please in that matter. ;) Basics first... The first one using UFRAW as Raw import tool for image editor is done. As we open DK more and more with plugins interface, it's more easy... For a more generalized external RAW processors in DK, This will be more complicated. Importing RAW with external tools is a first step. Gilles Caulier |
I do not have such option in my digikam... There is no list of external raw processing tools. Best regards, On Wed, Sep 18, 2019 at 10:04 AM Gilles Caulier <[hidden email]> wrote:
