Wonderful !

You've done a great job !

But I've a question : what about the status of the local adjustment tool, and the HDR composer ? In which version would they be integrated ?

Thanks

Paulux

For this one, code still under development into a dedicated branch. I
have not yet found time to test it.

This one, project has failed. We have selected and follow the bad guy. Sorry.

Paulux

Thank you for answer.

Doesn't matter for the HDR tool, although it's certainly disappointing.

But I'm really looking forward to the local adjustement tool.

Hope you could find time to test it, in less than one year ;-)

Good luck, and once again, thank you very much for all the job. I've tried a lot of picture softwares for my raw, and I always come back to DigiKam !

Regards,

Paulux

Great... !    Is the "new tool dedicated to organize whole tag
hierarchies" compatible with older tags (exif and xmp) created with DK
2.6 or/and DK 3.5 ? Other important point: does it work with external
mysql db ?

Hi,

Yes, Tags Manager is fully non-dependent of the way to store Tags. It
work in high level, low level still unchanged.

I built a new Archlinux system to test this under KDE (rather than Cinnamon as I had previously).
I am unable to see the EXIF data in the sidebar tab in the editor under this beta - hovering over the thumbnail shows what I presume is data extracted from the EXIF, but only the "Makernote" tab has anything at all in the sidebar (at this stage I haven't added any digikam tags).

Anyone else see this ?.

Look metadata filter options on top of metadata-viewer, where some
improvement has been introduced with 4.0.0

Hi
Thanks for your answer.
I asked this question because I try to update from DK 2.6 to DK 3.5 and
I got troubles to recover all tags. I backup DK 2.6/debian stable  mysql
db with mysqldump then I restore DK 3.5/debian testing mysql db. Some
image folders are empty, some other folders are filled with wrong
thumbnails. I hope it works better with DK 4...

I was sure I looked at that at the time, but just went back and checked - no effect. One initial opening, there was no radio button selected - this gives an abrieviated Makernote list like "custom list" in 3.4.0. If I select the "No filter" radio button I get the full Makernote list, but still get no EXIF.
"No filter" now appears to be (pre-)selected for all photos.
Same for RAW and jpeg loaded imported directly from my D7000 (I shoot both onto separate cards).
