Thanks Clive,
As i don't said in this mail, We working hard to 3.0.0 release planed at Christmas, where we will introduce new tools, as video slideshow, DLNA export. Video metadata have been introduced through Exiv2, a student work on Face recognition, and another one to revamp camera interface. The first 3.0.0 beta will come in September, if project progress is fine. We plan another 2.9.0 release before 3.0.0, as another bug-fixes release... I have installed Digikam 2.7 under Windows XP.
I can Import some Folders as Collections to Digikam and I can see the Thumbnails in the Thumbnail-Window. When i am add a new Collection to digikam Albums, after the Import in all Albums there are no Thumbnails in the Thumbnail-Window. I can open all Folders in all Albums, but no Thumbnails in the Thumbnail-Window are visible. At the first Time i have importet folders with 700, 798, 1420, 587, 4203, 2869 Photos as Albums. After the Imorts i can see the Thumbnails. After import the next Folder with 5115 Photos, in all Albums the Windows with the Thumbnails ar empty. The Function Rebuild Thumbnails has also no Effect. I am only import Pictures, no Videos. After closing Digikam the Processes dbus-daemon.exe and a lot kioslave.exe are still running with no CPU-Usage. Is possible to test the Import of the Thumbnails from the commandline to become some helpful Back messages? This Effect was also same with Digikam 2.5 and Digikam 2.6. What can i do that all the Thumbnails are visible? I'm under Windows XP SP3 and I use installer from sourceforge :http://sourceforge.net/projects/digikam/files/digikam/ In order to have log message I use DebugView from Microsoft : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896647.aspx Thanks to this bug report : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=297793 (comment 6,9) I have also this bug : the preview or slideshow failed to show some random image with the message : [34696] digikam(34696)/digikam (core): Failed to allocate chunk of memory of size 12582912 bad allocation or [75968] digikam(75968)/digikam (core): Failed to allocate chunk of memory of size 106555200 bad allocation This bug appear only if there is a lot of image in digikam.
