Hello,
I would like to stream some digiKam pictures on my Android and iPad, but so far I'm struggling. I use digiKam v3.0 beta3 from the Kubuntu backports PPA on Ubuntu 12.10. When I use *miniDLNA*, the three apps on Android (BubbleUPnP, MediaHouse and iMediaShare) find the "KIPI Plugin -DLNAExport"-Server, which contains four folders (All Pictures; Camera; Date Taken; Folders), but they are all empty. With *HUPnP API* I see "DLNA Export Media Server" and the pictures with BubbleUPnP on Android. However, MediaHouse and iMediaShare cannot display anything. On the iPad, XBMC sees nothing and DLNAApp sees an empty folder :-( Can anyone please tell me which app on Android and iPad work well together with digiKam? _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
I personally use MediaConnect on iPad 2 and 4 and it work perfectly with DLNA export tool, but only with final 3.0.0 release. I have the exact same setup: digiKam 3.0.0. beta 3 on Kubuntu 12.10 via Kubuntu backports. The AnDLNA app with the HUPnP API option works fine for me.

Gilles & Dmitri, thank you very much! With the *HUPnP_API* * "MediaConnect" works fine on iOS. * "BubbleUPnP" and "AnDLNA" work on Android. The *miniDLNA* implementation gives me only four empty folders, even on digiKam v3.0 final. In addition I noticed that pictures with white-spaces in their filenames cannot be streamed... But so far I am really happy with the possibility to show the streamed pictures on the tablet and not having to escavate my laptop :-) Thanks for the great digiKam project!! _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Note that i also tested DLNA between digiKam from Linux host and a Sony Bravia 120cm flat screen. Sony device support DLNA and work very well... Gilles Caulier 2013/2/22 Michael <[hidden email]>
