When you scroll through the language combobox for captions (or in the setup
pages for templates), all items that have been scrolled through will get the caption assigned, that has been entered. To make it more understandable, I made a little screenshot. I have not yet figured out what the problem is. Any ideas? http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/misc.tarballs/temp/captions_issue.ogg Andi _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |

Oh, weird. I never tested this case, and it's a strange issue...

I should mention that this doesn't happen when I click the combobox and select
a item the normal way, it only appears when I scroll through the list while it is collapsed. Yes, i can reproduce it here... The question is why. I can't see the
problem in code. All sound logic. If you can reproduce this side effect in template editor, i'm sure that problem is in this widget. Perhaps it's due to use KComboBox instead QComboBox ? Here, tested and tested again, all work fine, including spell checking.

Sorry, not working here... I recompiled (deleted the cache etc) the whole
kdegraphics suite (digikam, kipi-plugins), it is not fixed here. I did not rebuild the libs though, because I'm not able to do so since 2 weeks (I'm missing LibKNotificationItem and I guess I need KDE 4.3 for that). Anyway since the widget is used in digikam libs as well, this shouldn't be my problem. Have you actually scrolled through the list? Like I mentioned: It does only happen when scrolling through the list while the combobox is COLLAPSED. If I expand it and scroll through, it seems to work. Yes of course, and it's work now there... before, to fix, i can reproduce the problem as excepted. For spell checking dysfunction, look on the console if KDE found dictionary. Sure, but what does this have to do with the issue?
I only have dictionaries for US, EN and DE. I don't need more :) Have you really installed ALL that dictionaries? If so I may try to install them all and see if the issue is gone, but I doubt that. I'm not even sure if I will ever find all those dictionaries... As I said: Spell-checking is working fine everywhere else.
What code is responsible for the memorizing of the scrolled through languages? Maybe I find the issue on my system when I set a breakpoint there. This connection :
http://lxr.kde.org/source/extragear/graphics/digikam/libs/template/altlangstredit.cpp#298 call this slot : http://lxr.kde.org/source/extragear/graphics/digikam/libs/template/altlangstredit.cpp#368 ... when user play with language combo box. But due to signal emit by spell checking from KTextEdit when language is switched here : http://lxr.kde.org/source/extragear/graphics/digikam/libs/template/altlangstredit.cpp#368 ...this slot is called : http://lxr.kde.org/source/extragear/graphics/digikam/libs/template/altlangstredit.cpp#458 ... which make widget dirty. blocking signal from KLineEdit in slotSelectionChanged() fix the problem here...
