Hi all,
I just updated to ubuntu 10.10 and as a result also updated to digiKam 1.4. Previously I used digiKam 1.2. I always use one of the dark themes - my favourite is "darkroom". With the latest installation, something went wrong with the dark themes - even though the theme is dark, the left and right side bars (where, for instance, the albums and the exif details are listed) have a white background. The scroll bars and status bar are also white. This looks just awful. Any ideas how I can fix this?
Thanks, Gys

No idea, but I have the same "issue".
I've just installed kubuntu desktop to see what happen under KDE desktop, but for the moment, I didn't have the time. As I've kept my home directory, I try with a guest session and directly from LiveUSB with the same result. Problem seems to be always when using Digikam with Gnome.
Tried Kubuntu 10.10 and Fedora 14 with KDE without any problems but with Gnome the problem described here does appears on both distributions. So, there is something new with Gnome that doesn't works well with Digikam themes or something new with Digikam 1.4 that doesn't works well with Gnome. |
I don't think the problem comes from Digikam directly because the Kde
"System setting" tool seems to have the same problem than Digikam. So it's may be a matter of how new release of Gnome display KDE application, or how KDE set the theme for it. Using a mid drak theme could help to have a compromise. Totally Dark theme (like elegant gnome) give a better look to Digikam with dark theme, but brings some new matter in some other software (like white texte in white background). I find the theme Darkgilouche is not so bad as compromise, but it's not perfect.
