I almost left Picasa for Digikam, but there are some items that I find a bit
"annoying", so if somebody can help me/clarify (I'm a total newbie, so bear with me): 1) Sometimes I want to crop photos for printing on 4x6i/10x15cm photo paper. The Aspect Ratio Crop, doesn't offer a direct way to crop but according to paper formats... I have to choose custom. I'm doing something wrong/missing something or is there a way that I'm missing? 2) Is there any way of "clean" a photo (like a clone/stamp) tool inside the Image Editor? Or do I have to use an external editor? 3) Is there any way to set the default print settings? My printer needs to print in Landscape mode, and I need to change always for *every* photo that I print the settings to Landscape mode. Thanks for a great program! _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

There is 3:2, which is the same if you switch from landscape to portrait. > 2) Is there any way of "clean" a photo (like a clone/stamp) tool inside the > Image Editor? Or do I have to use an external editor? No, not yet. You could file a bug report about this at bugs.kde.org. Digikam is a very powerful program and it takes a while to learn how to use it. Your going about it I believe in the right way. Take you time and just weather the learning curve. > 1) Sometimes I want to crop photos for printing on 4x6i/10x15cm photo paper. You can just rotate it if you need to. > 2) Is there any way of "clean" a photo (like a clone/stamp) tool inside the > Image Editor? Or do I have to use an external editor? I haven't seen any. There are lots of full image manipulation tools like you would expect for a digital asset management program but not a lot of heavy in image editing tools also what you would expect from a digital asset management program. I usually right click and open the image in Gimp. > 3) Is there any way to set the default print settings? I use Kubuntu and have a HP 812C Deskjet and can go to the Applications>system settings>Printer configuration>job options and select the default orientation. It does pretty good if I leave it on automatic rotation. > > Thanks for a great program! > > _______________________________________________ > Digikam-users mailing list > [hidden email] > https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users Your E-mail and More On-the-Go.
