Hi David,

This appears not to be the case in my dk 2.1.0.
Or could it be the case that you tried to rename to an already existing
name?
which version of dk do you use?

just to try I did some renaming and end up with this IMGP0322PENTAX
PENTAX K-5PENTAX PENTAX K-5.JPG, but how do I revert that.
Can not find an option to remove charakter n1 to n2 or somthing, or an
undo option or an original name in metadata.
There are of course enough ways to do it but can it happen in dk?

Anyway, Andi, who has implemented rename tool in digiKam can respond

haven't had that problem with 1.9.x nor 2.0.0 nor in between. Haven't
tried 2.1 yet.
