Hi, using GNU/Linux instead of a proprietary OS is one of the best thing
you can do to improve the world and your own life. Technically it's 1000
times superior to the m$ toy, especially to keep your data safe. And for
liberty, it's the only way to have a very little hope of keeping this
last one.

While all of that may be true, Linux can be harder to use for several reasons,
mostly related to fewer persons working on the different parts...

But both darktable and Digikam were originally made under Linux, and still
have parts that are less well implemented under MS-Windows.

P.S. A bit late in replying as I don't really like spending time on replying
to temporary email addresses (like OP's, who posted the same question in the
darktable list from a different email address)

And for the distro, I remember OpenSuse for being the best KDE-based
Linux OS

Actually, after 22 years of using Linux, I am now confident that
KDE-Neon has the best KDE implementation of them all.

It's Ubuntu based, so it's a standard distribution with a very solid
foundation, but you get the last of the best in KDE features.

That said, I haven't looked at OpenSuSE for a long time. It may be just
as good. The last time I used it, its admin tools (YaST, yum, etc) were
far too slow for me.

Sorry, I admit that I haven't tried KDE Neon yet. And because it is based on
Ubuntu, I feel don't like it. And this bug report says it all.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376061

QtAV has been available in openSUSE since the beginning, that we switched to
this framework immediately.
