Problem when renaming files with the batch tool (w/o screencopy)

tosca
I've already sent the following message with a screencopy, but it is pending validation as the message body is too big.

Here it is again, without the screencopy.

=====================================

Since I have installed the 1.2 version, the renaming option of the batch tool doesn't seem to work properly: the original file name is not pasted in the new name. Thus [file]_resz.[ext] gives the same resulting file name for all the pictures processed: _resz.JPG (see screencopy)

Did I miss something? It works perfectly with the previous version.

I have seen something perhaps related.
The pictures i have imported from my camera (PTP-mode) with Digikam
1.2.0 with this [date:ISO]-[file] rename options I get filenames like
this: 2010-04-03T14:11:08-.JPG (the original filename is stripped).
With Digikam 1.1.0 it worked as expected:
2010-04-03T14:11:08-IMG_0226.JPG.
Importing files from the harddrive or card reader renames the files right.

I don't rename the pictures as I import them.
I just want to copy/resize pictures with the batch tool, so I can use them on the web (on my blog or another website).

Bonsoir,

De mon coté je n'ai pas de problème de renumérotation par lot voir copie écran jointe.

j'utilise le masque [meta:Exif.Photo.DateTimeDigitized]{unique:2}
explication:
 [meta:Exif.Photo.

I'm still having problem when trying to rename the files with the Queue Manager.

Currently, I have 4 files in the queue. I choose to rename the files as [file]_resz.[ext] and, at first the proposed target seems to be right. Then I select the resizing tool, and it still is OK.
But when I add the JPEG conversion, the proposed targets for the 4 files immediately turn to _resz.jpg: the original filename is lost, and all the images are to be processed with the same target filename!

I've put a screencopy here: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/2QEcBMogoMluMYZipFegVgOxbZvKjsaAHhxp3y1uli4?feat=directlink

Re: Problem when renaming files with the batch tool (w/o screencopy)

I'm surprised to get no answer to this message.

Am I doing something wrong? But I did rename the pictures in exactly the same way with the previous version, and it worked like a charm.

Shall I report a bug?

Thanks for your answer.

I've never renamed any files using digikam so I can't confirm or deny
what you are seeing but if you've seen a change in a feature that used
to work and doesn't any longer, then yes, enter a bug.

I think it is a bug so yes do that please!
Post the link to the bugreport here and I will add comments with my
problems to as I think they are related.

First question is: what version are you using ... because the problem appeared with the 1.2.0; it works perfectly with the previous ones.

Second is: the problem is with the original file name, that I don't want to loose, just append some string at the end so I can differentiate the copy from the original.
Could you make a test with the file name, and see if it works for you.
