Plustek Support?

Mick Sulley
I need to import a load of 35mm negatives and slides with a Plustek
scanner.  Is this supported in DigiKam?  Otherwise I need to boot into
Windows, and I really don't like doing that!

Thanks
Mick

digiKam use libsane backend for scanner support. Look in this project
to see if these models are supported.

Thanks Gilles.  I checked and unfortunately it is not supported, so I'll
just have to use Windoze to scan them all.

Yes, I have the OpticFilm 7200, which is unsupported.

For Linux (and Windows) Scaning, including my Plustek, I use VueScan,
www.hamrick.com.
Not free, but excellent results across multiple OSs and scanners.

Re: Plustek Support?

Mick Sulley
Unfortunately it only supports the Plustek OpticFilm 7200 on windows.
Looks like I am stuck with dusting off my copy of XP.

Thanks anyway.

Re: Plustek Support?

Sorry, I originally used VueScan and Plustek on Windows, then VueScan
was ready for Linux and I have used it ever since, but not for my PlusTek.

My suggestion: Run XP in a Virtual Box VM.
That is my solution for the few items left in my life that need Windows.
Win7 would require an additional license, unless Win7 is already set up
on your Linux machine.
