Hi Sambhav,
I remember your application, good to hear from you again :).
Can you tell what do you mean by SoK 2020?

Hello mentors,

I am Sambhav, a junior year undergraduate from IIT Mandi and I contributed
to Digikam in past months. Unfortunately, I wasn't active in the recent few
months due to my college internship. But now I am again available to
contribute again to Digikam.

I tried for GSoC'19 but unfortunately didn't get selected. So, I want to
complete a project with Digikam and would love to contribute and implement
any feature to the software.
So, is Digkam participating in SoK 2020? If yes, then I'm available for a
project. If not, then I would love to solve some bugs again. So, please give
me a list of bugs in case.
I'm sure that I've overcome any shortcomings which I showed while
contributing previously.

Regards,
Sambhav Dusad

Hi Sambhav,
it is up to the maintainers if they going to join SoK, I cannot tell.

The only feature I can think of, what may  allows  to work quite independently is to create a plugin or extend the BQM, see here

I reckon you will quite a lot support from the community on how it shall look like.

Hello Stefan,

SoK i.e. Season of KDE is the student program organised by KDE. They have it this time around also for 40 days. Every other softwares like krita, gcompris are participating. So, I thought if Digikam is also participating, then this is a good opportunity to do a project and also get ready for GSoC'20.

So, if there is any short project available like a feature implementation or building something on the exisiting tool, I would love to do that.

Hello,

Yeah, that's why I mailed to ask about the SoK. SoK is just for 40 days, so a complex project can't be done in this duration. Simple yet important features can be implemented. I can make a proposal and timeline on the project and if mentors like it, then we can proceed with the project.
I solved some bugs in BQM previously, so I am aware of the code base and style of coding as well.
If digikam is not participating, then I can solve some bugs as well.

Dear Sambhav,

You might consider working on touch screen functionality, if you have access
to a touch screen device that is capable of running digiKam:
