Hi all,
I am desperately seeking for a way to rotake my JPG-photos in a lossless way. As I understood from the former discussions on this list, a losless rotation will be performed outside the image editor, e.g. by right-clicking on a Thumbnail. However, digikam does not provide this option to me :-( I am using Suse 10.1 with the following software versions: digikam 0.8.1-23 digikamimageplugins 0.8.1-7.2 libkipi 0.1.4-3.2 kipi-plugins 0.1.0rc2-9.2 that I installed from RPMs provided by Smart Channels for Suse 10.1 (software.opensuse.org and ftp.gwdg.de/[...]/RPMS.base/[...]) There is no option to rotate pictures outside the image editor, neither in the context menu of a thumbnail nor in the main menu. What can I do to get this feature in digikam? Thanks a lot, Michael _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Are you a line like this : KIPI (loading): Plugin_JPEGLossless plugin loaded KIPI (loading): KIPI::PluginLoader: Loaded plugin JPEGLossless ... when you start digiKam from a console. Also, are you enable this plugin into Kipiplugins setup dialog page ? [sorry for this strange reply - I switched from Digest to single mails
in the list and didn't get your reply, so I had to reply to my own mail ;-)] Gilles Cauler wrote: >In fact, these options are provided by JPEGLossLess kipi plugin, not digiKam >itself. Nope, there are 15 Plugins (KIPI-Version: 0.1.2), but none of them is about JPEGLossless. Well you have used a broken package or something like that. Here i use suse 10.1 without problem (i'm sure, i develop digiKam) I recommend you to build and install kipi-plugins using source tarball and try again. Smart tells me I have these Packages installed: http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/Backports/SUSE_Linux_10.1/i586/libkipi-0.1.4-3.2.i586.rpm http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/Backports/SUSE_Linux_10.1/i586/kipi-plugins-0.1.0rc2-9.2.i586.rpm > Here i use suse 10.1 without problem (i'm sure, i develop digiKam) I know :-) > I recommend you to build and install kipi-plugins using source tarball and try > again. Only the kipi-plugins or also the libkipi? I have to admit I don't know exactly what does what ... Will it be correct to use these downloads: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=42641&package_id=132647&release_id=359003 http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=42641&package_id=132646&release_id=359007 for that? Hi again,
just uninstalled digikam digikamimageplugins gwenview (because of KIPI) kipi-plugins libkipi and re-installed only from software.opensuse.org server. Now the KIPI-Options in digikam tell me I am using Version 0.1.4, but there is still no JPEGLossless. The 15 found modules are (free translation from German ;-) - albums on CD/DVD - send pics by e-mail - export to Flickr - create calendar - fetch pics - export gallery to remote pc - set time and date - search pics - print images - set desktop wallpaper - export gallery - create screen presentation - batch mode - simple viewer - convert raw format It seems the Suse packages are not working here ... Thx, Michael _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I have kipi-plugins 0.1.0_0.1-1.pm1 libkipi 0.1.4-3.2 Maybe I used other installations sources in Yast, I use the following: http://packman.iu-bremen.de/suse/10.0/ http://software.opensuse.org/download/repositories/KDE:/KDE3/SUSE_Linux_10.0 http://software.opensuse.org/download/repositories/KDE:/Backports/SUSE_Linux_10.0 ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/mirrors/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source/ ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/mirrors/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source-java/ ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/mirrors/suse/pub/suse/i386/10.0/SUSE-Linux10.0-GM-Extra/ for your 10.1 search the appropriate directories with your browser, then add to Yast's installation sources ("Installationswuelle wechseln") and try to update. hope this helps :-) Daniel -- Daniel Bauer photographer Basel Switzerland professional photography: http://www.daniel-bauer.com special interest site: http://www.bauer-nudes.com _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

That may be the difference. However, Gilles told us that he's got it working in 10.1 so that shouldn't be the problem. Maybe the Suse guys don't put all the plugins in the RPM? I just installed the Packman-RPM for Suse 10.0 by using the rpm command - and now I've got the JPEGLossless KIPI-Plugin and its function - both in the main menu and in the context menu of the thumbnail view :-))))) I still wonder why it seems not to be included in the "official" Suse RPM for 10.1? But not for too long, I have to use digikam now ;-) Thanks a lot for everybody's help and especially the developers for that great piece of software!
