Using DK 1.2 in Mint9-Gnome (based on Ubuntu 10.04).
Digikam fails to load collections at first start after reboot ,though it loads successfully at second start. This is happening since @ 15 days. Terminal shows- j@j-desktop ~ $ digikam QStringList Solid::Backends::Hal::HalManager::findDeviceByDeviceInterface(const Solid::DeviceInterface::Type&) error: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ChildExited" QDBusConnection: name 'org.freedesktop.Hal' had owner '' but we thought it was ':1.45' Time elapsed: 111 ms Time elapsed: 4 ms Model: Time elapsed: 142 ms TextureColorizer: Time elapsed: 75 ms Time elapsed: 4 ms Time elapsed: 4 ms Model: Time elapsed: 11 ms As per displayed window, marked collections as removable instead of local, but no difference. Purging and reinstalling Digikam didn't help. The collection path (at configure digikam>collections) is not visible after 1st start and is OK at restart of DK. Any clue please?

Got rectified automatically, but prior to this the workaround I used was---- Run Dolphin or Gwenview at startup OR save and load a session with one of these running. Submitted because it may help someone, sometime.
