And by the way, if you go to www.digikam.org/?q=docs you can download the latest documentation in pdf form. The DAM is a chapter in there.

It will be time to update seriously drupal into www.digikam.org to be able to use :

- the drupal wiki module
- the drupal captcha module (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captcha)
- enable external comments on site.

Best

Well, chdk is AFAIK Russian software. In Russia copyright laws are
slightly different than in the rest of the world (and attitude toward
breaking of it). Note: I would prefer if ROTW accepted Russian attitude
toward copyrights but I would be *very* careful with including this
code.

Maybe some contact with chdk authors?

Well, chdk is AFAIK Russian software. In Russia copyright laws are

right... but GPL is GPL around the world, isn't it ?

Note: I would prefer if ROTW accepted Russian attitude

I will not include this code. I would take a look how is done the DNG converter part (indeep using DNG sdk), and writting a patch around libkdcraw.

DNG sdk is require of course for that. This is the problem... For the rest of code, no GPL conflict is possible : this will be my code.

I would to have a license expert here, especially from Debian team. It's is possible to use DNG sdk code in a GPL project and to publish it as GPL ? Achim, waht do you think about ?

Maybe some contact with chdk authors?

sent message yesterday. no response...

Last time we updated drupal in version 4.7.* for security reasons with
Toma, it was not so easy because of the template (Toma had to do some
tricks to use it under this version).
To use version 5.7, we need to convert the XTemplate file to the
PHPTemplate :
http://drupal.org/node/22019

It shouldn't be so difficult, but I never tried and I don't have much
time to work on it.
Is there anybody in this room with some experience with Drupal ?

Once this is done, we have to talk with Toma so we can switch to drupal 5.7

I have quite a lot of experience with Drupa 5.7. That's why I was not shouting 'here I am', because in my experience it is never simple to do a migration.
That said, if we had a proper backup of the database and some help/explanation from you and/or Tom I would venture to do the upgrade.

Gilles, I am not a license lawyer, and i carefully read the Adobe license http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/dng/dng_sdk_eula_win.html
several times over. After all I cannot find any restriction to use this software and to join it with GPL code.

"Adobe hereby grants you a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty free license to use, reproduce, prepare derivative works from, publicly display, publicly perform, distribute and sublicense the Software for any purpose."

The restrictions are the same as GPS restriction: ownership and copyright remain with Adobe.

I cannot find any issue here.

Lets go ahead!

Gerhard,

Drupal 6.0 is out. Perhaps it will help better to upgrade digiKam web site ?
