Langage is very important

Hi, bonjour,
Mon anglais est très mauvais, car je suis encore d'une génération qui
pense, imagine et parle français. (et mon dictionnaire est emballé je ne
sais ou)
Speaking english is very hard for me, as my generation think, imagine,
and speak french at all. (and I've left my dictionnary)
L'open source est pour moi un synonyme de liberté et pensais-je de
compréhension de l'autre, d'attention envers lui.
Open source is, for me, synonym of freedom and I though, of
understanding and attentionaly for him.
Si Digikam n'était pas francisé, je ne l'aurais même pas essayé, car
l'objectif d'un logiciel ou d'un langage doit être de se mettre à la
portée de lutilisateur
If Digikam wasn't  traduct in french, i don't care of it, as the object
of it, than language, is to be useful for the user.
Enfin, si l'anglais "parait" aujourd'hui universel a certains, le
français l'était encore, même commercialement, il y a encore 150 ans,
comme le furent le romain, le vénitien, le grec.
Yet, if english is, today, the universal and comercial language
, french was in the same position 150 years before, like roman, italian,
grec and others language.

De l'uniformité naquit l'ennui et la ruine de l'âme.
? (as i havent my dictionary, I can't find the good words)

And afterall, I don't get respons to my question ? Why the red-eyes tool
don't give me real-black eyes, and why is it a square and not a circle,
than eyes are round ?

Hi Daniel

I rarely use the red-eye removal feature, because I almost never use the
flash. But I found an example image online to try out what digikam does
with it.

In digikam, you must select the eye and then choose enhance->red-eye...
(I don't know how this menu is called in the french translation)
Then you get a (quite complicated) screen to modify the saturation of
the selection.

I don't know how to change the selection shape, perhaps this isn't possible?

If this is important to you, perhaps you should file a bug-report on
bugs.kde.org for digikam...

I usually use "the gimp" for editing photo's, it does allow oval or
circular selection and it has a very good red-eye removal tool.

Don't get me wrong, in fact, the overprotecting attitude most of the french
people have on their language/culture is something I usually envy. Yet that
doesn't mean I lose the fair perspective of using a common language.
Furthermore, I'd love people to write emails in two languages as that way I
would be able to learn some french or italian (I don't feel capable of
learning swedish or german just by translating...)

Can't answer your question Daniel. Maybe i'ts a code limitation on digikam.

if its about the universal language then we'd better start comunicating in
chinese! También a mi me gusta mucho el castellano! Am aifachschte wär für mi
natürlig Baseldütsch.

I guess english is losing very much by being the international language,
because it's used by persons, like me, who are totally limited in their
grammars and vocabulary. So a "minimum standard" gets established and I see
that even native english speaking people get used to a kind of primitive basic
language. SMS does its part in this too.

Well, thats all very OT, I'll go back to my work with great digiKam now - I
just couldn't resist throwing in my 11 cents (2 cents + taxes).
