How to distinguish different photographers

Wolfgang Mader
Hi list,

sometimes I get photos from friends of an event I myself also took photos. How
is your strategy in such a situation to distinguish the photos from different
photographers? For my own photos I use the template function from digikam, but
I do not want to define an own template for every random photographer who
passes photos over to me.

Thank you and all the best,
Wolfgang

If they haven't filled in any copyright-related metadata, you could try using
camera model and serial n°.

I use tags for that.  I have a top-level tag, Photographer, and subtags for
each person who has given me pictures.  E.g. I use Photographer/David for
pictures I took myself and Photographer/Dad for pictures my father took.

As for myself, I set up a different collection for pictures from other
photographs.
