How do I crop an image?

Chris Green
This is silly, I can't find where to crop an image in Digikam!  :-)

I'm sure it used to be straightforward but I can't find it at all now,
this is after a system upgrade (xubuntu 10.04 to 10.10) so now I'm
running Digikam version 1.4.

Aha, I've just got a little way, select an image and click on Edit but
unfortunately 'Crop' is greyed out so I still can't crop the image.

What have I got wrong?

On editor canvas, just select an area with mouse, and after press crop button.

Alternative is to use Transform/Ratio Crop tool from editor menu.

There's two ways of cropping in Digikam:
- 'Free' crop: select a rectangle in your image, then use the menu
     Transform -> Crop
- 'Aspect ratio' crop: just use the menu option
     Transform -> Aspect Ratio Crop

Of course, you select the area to do something to before doing it, thank
you!

That's useful too, thank you.
