Fwd: No Photos in Import Dialog

Axel Klein
Hi *,

I am runnung digikam 4.0.0 on Ubuntu trusty thar.
I installed it from msylwester's ppa although I had a version 3.5.0
installed previously that I compiled by myself which I deleted.

When I want to import photos from my Canon 500D that is connected by
USB, I don't see any picture in the import dialog and below I read the
message:
'Fehler beim Verbinden mit der Kamera. Bitte überprüfen Sie, ob die
Kamera korrekt angeschlossen und eingeschaltet ist.'

On the command line I read the following:
snip--
digikam(30733)/digikam (core) Digikam::DigikamApp::checkSolidCamera:
Solid returns unsupported driver handle for gphoto2
digikam(30733)/digikam (core) Digikam::ImportStackedView::syncSelection:
one or both of the models are null?! from:
Digikam::ImportIconView(0x5be1230) to:
Digikam::ImportThumbnailBar(0x6212df0)
QObject::connect: Cannot connect
(null)::signalThumbInfo(QString,QString,CamItemInfo,QImage) to
Digikam::MapViewModelHelper::slotThumbnailLoaded(QString,QString,CamItemInfo,QImage)
digikam(30733)/digikam (core) Digikam::ImageInfo::ImageInfo: No location
could be retrieved for url KUrl("")
digikam(30733)/digikam (core) Digikam::ImageInfo::ImageInfo: No location
could be retrieved for url KUrl("")
digikam(30733)/digikam (core) Digikam::ImageInfo::ImageInfo: No location
could be retrieved for url KUrl("")
digikam(30733)/digikam (core) Digikam::ImageInfo::ImageInfo: No location
could be retrieved for url KUrl("")
void DBusMenuExporterPrivate::fillLayoutItem(DBusMenuLayoutItem*,
QMenu*, int, int, const QStringList&): No id for action
void DBusMenuExporterPrivate::fillLayoutItem(DBusMenuLayoutItem*,
QMenu*, int, int, const QStringList&): No id for action
--snip

I have set-up the camera in the settings both as Canon 500D and as
'Automatische Erkennung' - no success, always the same error.

With nemo or nautilus the camera is shown as:
gphoto2://[usb:002,007]/
and I have access to all files.

The same happens when I connect my Motorola G to the computer.

Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards
Axel

This was actually finally fixed in one of the most recent 3.x versions, and the
fix was lost with 4.0. Also hits my canon cameras. :\

I had a similar problem long time ago. After I had discovered that
nautilus was occupying the USB-port I killed the nautilus process and
the problem disappeared.

Re: Fwd: No Photos in Import Dialog

Paulux

Hi !

I've the same problem since DK 4.0.0, with my canon 60D. All the previews are missing in the download dialog.

Don't understand why.
