I'm surprised export to FB doesn't seem to work, and I cannot find Digikam/Kipi-Plugins in the "applications for journal". Yet I used it not so long ago...
Is it a known issue? Thanks for any hint on the matter, Marie-Noëlle -- Mes dernières photos sont dans ma galerie. Retrouvez-moi aussi sur mon blog. Might be. But the link provided in the bug report doesn't work; it goes to http://apps.facebook.com/kipi-plugins/ and I get the following message: "
Erreur pendant le chargement de KDE KIPI Import/Export Plugin
Aucune réponse reçue." The application seems to have disappeared from FB. We've had the same kind of problem once, some months ago, I think. Marie-Noëlle -- Mes dernières photos sont dans ma galerie. Seems to have finally hit me too. I now can't upload photos to
Crackbook via Digikam either. Any suggestions other than changing
the application privacy settings on Facebook (which I've done)?

Working again for me for a few days. I don't know what has come/gone, but one day the issue appears to have been solved by itself!!

Here I can log into facebook via a konqueror window which DK starts, and
copy & paste the URL back to the DK window, then DK shows my fb credentials and lets me specify the name of the album I want to create (or use <auto create> and to resize my photos before uploading. Then I press 'Start upload' but nothing happens - the 'Start upload' button remains dsiplayed. If I specified a name for the new album on facebook then that album is created, but no photos are uploaded. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? You've selected pictures prior to using the export function?

Maybe in a future version digikam could pop up a dialogue saying "you haven't selected any pictures" to help newbie users like me? -- John Stumbles http://stumbles.org.uk :-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-: _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
I guess you'll make this error only once ... for almost everything - and any export operation - you need to select pictures before.

It's one of those things that makes the learning curve steep for newcomers. In the days when I wrote what I laughingly described as 'programs' I tried to help users by either making it impossible to do the wrong thing or by prompting them when they had done the wrong thing. In the case of digikam I wonder if the various export operations have a common point in the code where this particular user mistake could be caught rather than modifying lots of separate pieces of code? I realise things like this are an extra burden for the developers who are already doing a heroic job working on this ambitious project, but I think it would be great if one day digikam were as easy to use as well as powerful as its proprietary rivals! -- John Stumbles http://stumbles.org.uk :-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-: _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
