We are nine students from Toulouse, France and we are working on MediaWiki/Silk as a university project. In our project, we have to develop a tool to upload images to a wiki powered by Mediawiki. So, we want to create a Digikam plug-in. We choosed Digikam because :

Thanks for you contribution. there is no plan to support Mediawiki currently in digiKam. So you can start it without any problem. Note, it's a kipi-plugins that you need to create. Please use current implementation from svn trunk as reference (1.8.0). Also, please note that [hidden email] mailing list must be used about kipi-plugins, not [hidden email]. The best way it to use directly kde bugzilla, which will route all message on the right ML. There is an old entry about a future mediawiki plugin : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206842 Guillaume Paumier has tried to work on this subject but he have not found the time to do it. He work to wikipedia, so, he is the right guy to contact if you need help about wikipedia API. You can contact me in French at my private email (caulier dot gilles at gmail dot com), if you have some technical questions. It will be faster.
