Hi,
I have a collection on a USB harddisk, and that does not get updated in digikam when add a image to it, it looks like digikam does not watch for changes. I use darktable to edit my raw files, so I open a image in darktable, and exports a jpeg into the same folder as the original - and digikam does not pick it up. i can use "refresh" in the album context menu, but that is insanely slow, because it refreshes all thumbnails. Is there anything I can do to make digikam behave as expected with a usb hdd? Kindly, Anders |
Which digiKam version do you use exactly ? Gilles Caulier 2017-03-17 10:34 GMT+01:00 Anders Lund <[hidden email]>: Hi, |

Try option "Setup/Metadata/Behavior/Rescan file when modified" Gilles Caulier 2017-03-17 11:55 GMT+01:00 Anders Lund <[hidden email]>: fredag den 17. marts 2017 11.49.27 CET skrev Gilles Caulier: |

> Try option "Setup/Metadata/Behavior/Rescan file when modified" I enabled that, but it did not appear to help. And the metadata in files known by digikam does not change when I export a photo from darktable, I believe. No new versions of the file appears, though - in fact the versions sidebar is empty for the files in question - the CR2 files. Kindly, Anders > > jdd |

I have observed that if the usb hdd is mounted when digikam is started, things
works. So it's quite easy to work around this problem - but how easy would it be to solve? ;) Kindly, Anders fredag den 17. marts 2017 10.34.46 CET skrev Anders Lund: > Hi, > > I have a collection on a USB harddisk, and that does not get updated in > digikam when add a image to it, it looks like digikam does not watch for > changes. > > I use darktable to edit my raw files, so I open a image in darktable, and > exports a jpeg into the same folder as the original - and digikam does not > pick it up. > > i can use "refresh" in the album context menu, but that is insanely slow, > because it refreshes all thumbnails. > > Is there anything I can do to make digikam behave as expected with a usb > hdd? > > Kindly, > Anders |
