Hi, I tried to edit a raw picture (.CR2) from a Canon G5X, and got a purple tint all over the picture. What can be done to solve this issue._______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Canon G5X will be supported in libraw 0.18 but it's not released as final yet but there is a "stable enough" release to download and build yourself. If you use Digikam 4.x then download and build it and rebuild libkdcraw to use it and Digikam will be able to use the features of updated version of libraw. Otherwise I guess you have to wait for libraw 0.18 final is released and the maintainer of your linux distribution updates the packages. Hope that helps or at least let you know what needs to be done.On Sat, Jan 16, 2016 at 8:52 PM, Marie-Noëlle Augendre <[hidden email]> wrote:

Thanks for your answer. I think I'll wait for my distro package. Marie-Noëlle -- et aussi sur Facebook : _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
I think that Digikam 5 will support libraw 0.18 before your distro will update the packages (but not yet) as it will be built in digikam 5 it self. That is if your distribution have beta packages of Digikam 5. /philipOn Sat, Jan 16, 2016 at 10:17 PM, Marie-Noëlle Augendre <[hidden email]> wrote:

Hi,
I thought .CR2 is always the same: I have an EOS 40D and an EOS 6D. The Raw-Format of both is .CR2 and until now I did not have any problems... Could it be a question of an incomplete transfer of the files from the camera to the computer? (Some time ago I had a similar experience (tint) and it was a transfer problem...) As it is, the G5X is a new model, and is not known in some libraries. Same problem with darktable: I need to upgrade to the 2.0 version (not yet available for Fedora) in order to the camera be recognized. Welcome to the complexity of RAW file : smae extension, but not the same format... As RAW data depend of sensor device, this cannot be exactly the same content. As RAW format are private container, not documented, Camera maker do a mess, without any compatibility. Raw is the hell in photography world.
