Version 0.10.0-beta6 (rev.: 887796) (svn, built myself)
I have folders on an external USB drive that I want to add as albums. If I choose Album>New... and fill in the dialog box, click ok, digiKam returns with an error: "Failed to create directory" Is this a bug, a problem with my system, problem with my build, or am I doing something wrong? -gary _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Gary,
Which file system you use ? FAT 32 or NTFS ? Gilles Caulier 2008/12/3 Gary Pajer <[hidden email]> Version 0.10.0-beta6 (rev.: 887796) (svn, built myself) _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

2008/12/3 Gary Pajer <[hidden email]> NTFS Ok. Now, try to use another removable media (as USB key for ex.) formated with Fat32, and try again. Gilles _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Wait ... I can't create a new album on my local HD (NTFS), or a local
HD partition (FAT32). There are about 20 albums already there. I don't remember how they got there. If I remember correctly, I chose a "root" directory for my photos, and digiKam automatically created albums from the directories in there. Does that sound right? Summary: I can't seem to create *any* new album from within digiKam. I must be missing some important instruction. -gary On Wed, Dec 3, 2008 at 8:33 AM, Gilles Caulier <[hidden email]> wrote: > > > 2008/12/3 Gary Pajer <[hidden email]> >> >> NTFS > > Ok. There is a path (like "Home > My Pictures > Paddy" ) at the top of the dialog (should be above the tree) if you click near the end of that, you can enter a normal path too which can be on a different drive. > > Thanks for your help, > gary > Patrick > > >> regards, >> Patrick >> >> -- >> web: http://windows.kde.org >> mailing list: [hidden email] >> irc: #kde-windows (irc.freenode.net) >> _______________________________________________ >> Digikam-users mailing list >> [hidden email] >> https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users >> > _______________________________________________ > Digikam-users mailing list > [hidden email] > https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users > -- web: http://windows.kde.org mailing list: [hidden email] irc: #kde-windows (irc.freenode.net) _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Maybe I will find some time but I doubt it. If you experience any more bugs & crashes, please file a bug report in http://bugs.kde.org - I guess a lot of stuff might be still hidden in the kipi-plugins If you can test those, it would be nice too. I tried sending pictures via email already from within digikam but with f*cking thunderbird it of course will not work correctly. one thing I now remember is: can you please try to rename albums?
