Hi,

The pictures I edited were of the order of 6 or 7 MB, & I have 4GB of RAM.

Both JPEG and RAW. I did modify the contrast, hue, saturation, colors,
brightness, sharpness, blurring, etc., sometimes I even rescaled the pictures.
I didn't notice any pattern in the sequence of events leading to the crash...
Sorry.

Can you reproduce the crash with other image in a new digiKam instance ?

Have you edited other images before to edit this special image which crash
editor ?

Perhaps ther is a memory leak somewhere. It can be usefull to run digiKam
through valgrind and report console trace for investiguations. Look into
HACKING file for details :

https://projects.kde.org/projects/extragear/graphics/digikam/repository/revisions/master/entry/HACKING#L281

Note : with valgrind, speed will be divided by 10.

As I posted initially: yes, it can be reproduced (at least on my computer, I
admit). On random pictures. I experienced this crash several times (not too
many, fortunately) before reporting it. There was nothing special about the
picture I edited just before reporting the crash.

I may try running digikam through valgrind (though I never heard of that
before). If I do, I will report the console trace.
