Rating picture in normal thumbnail view works fine. But in preview mode with
thumbar it is not working. If I click on a star it does not assign the rating
to the picture.

Yes...quite simply, the relevant component is not added in the face view.
For unknown tags, there is the confirm/remove widget in the way.
Need to find a way to make it reappear for confirmed faces
