Mikkel Christensen <[hidden email]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[hidden email] --- Comment #2 from Mikkel Christensen <mbc baekhoej dk> 2010-04-29 23:23:50 --- Do you want a replacement for Hugin? Why not just use Hugin? Or am I misunderstanding something? In my opinion, we shouldn't aim to make digiKam a replacement for every other graphics application out there. Let's focus on what digiKam is good at (managing lots of pictures) and add features that belong in management workflows or features that are not readily available in any other good applications. For example, I don't think we should try to make digiKam a replacement for Gimp. Adding exposure blending, on the other hand, was great, because there weren't any good graphical frontend available for enfuse/align_image_stack. --- Comment #3 from Axel Krebs <axel krebs t-online de> 2010-04-30 08:18:58 --- Hi Mikkel, what I'm Hugin using for, is "just doing Panoramas". Quite simple ones, certainly not highly sophisticated. Would be nice to have an _integrated_ solution, so far. In Hugin exist one dozend kinds of projections, maybe. But what for? I never used other than (standard?) cylindrical projection. It is fine to have a easy-to-use solution, just right-click on selected pictures, and an automated procedure starts. Could be stepwise and interactive, but easiest way is just clicking through with acceptable results. Thanks for your interest. --- Comment #4 from Johannes Wienke <languitar semipol de> 2010-04-30 10:10:50 --- Even "simple" panoramas require a lot of calculations. I doubt that all the steps hugin performs are separated in binaries like enfuse and align_image_stack. The message should be that even creating simple panoramas is complex process that requires a lot of knowledge. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug. _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |

Something like selecting multiple picture and ask with menu/context menu/shortcut, "Create a Panorama with Hugin" which call hugin with the corresponding images. For now, it doesn't seem to exist.

--- Comment #6 from Axel Krebs <axel krebs t-online de> 2011-01-02 22:10:26 --- Just for the sake of accurancy: my idea is a WISH, rather not a "BUG". KDE Bugtracking system does not distinguish this from the beginning of a report, unfortunately.
