[Bug 195703] New: Crashes when starting first time after installation

Bugzilla from per.stromgren@pulpeten.se
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=195703

Summary: Crashes when starting first time after installation
           Product: digikam
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: [hidden email]
        ReportedBy: [hidden email]

Version:           Sorry, don't know, see text. (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

I use Ubuntu 9.04. After installing digikam and starting it for the first time,
it crashes with the following report. I can't even ask it its version number,
neither any KDE Version number. I just made one up, in order to be able to
report this bug!

Just before I installed digikam, I tried F-spot, which uses the same directory
(~/Photos).

Application: digiKam (digikam), signal SIGSEGV

[Bug 195703] Crashes when starting first time after installation

Bugzilla from pino@kde.org
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=195703

--- Comment #1 from Pino Toscano <pino kde org>  2009-06-08 20:55:30 ---
Does it still crashes if in a console you run:
$ kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental
? (the output of it should not matter)

Do you want me to check now, or after digikam 1.1 is released?

Rohan, the backtrace in your report is a KDirWatch issue that is resolved (I
think is was bug 215967). The backtrace in this report is not complete so we
can't really tell what the problem is.

Although I'm not the original poster, I just installed 1.6.0 and tried running
it. Crashed straight away.

Running up to date MAverick.
