digikam 9.5b3

go to "import" menu
then
"still camera"
then
there is no more the option "media:/camera" to launch the file manager
and
the option "scan mass storage > USB imaging interface" drives you to the import
function

addendum :

the option "<your camera>" drives you to the import function which worls well

if i swith off then on my camera
then
i choose "open a new window"
then
the file manager is opened at media:/camera
then
in digikam
in import > camera i see :

scan media:/camera
<my camera>
scan mass storage
add a camera

What is your active desktop under Mandriva 2009.0 ? KDE3 or KDE4 ?

Philippe,

You can run digiKam 0.9.5 under KDE4 desktop. it use KDE3 library. If these
information come from about dialog, it cannot be representative of the reality.

In fact media:/ is drived by running desktop. With KDe4, it's slitly different.

Also, KDE3 under Mandriva 2009.0 is a mess to setup, and for next Mandriva
release KDE3 packages will be removed. here i use KDE 4.1.3 (i'm use Mandriva
2009.0), because i cannot setup a suitable KDE3.

To resume, it can be releavant of the distro.
