Summary: feature request: export slideshow in lighttable Product: digikam Version: 0.9.3 Platform: Debian testing OS/Version: unspecified Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: [hidden email] ReportedBy: [hidden email] Version: 0.9.3 (using KDE 3.5.10) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Hi, debian testing, kde 3.5.9, digikam 0.9.3 I've made a selection of pictures (across several albums) and collected and sorted them in the lighttable. I didn't find a way to - either save the list of pictures I've collected (list of pathnames or else) to close and reopen my slideshow later. - or even export the listed files into one new directory to put this slideshow and its set of photos to a stick or burn it to a CDROM. The only purpose of the lighttable is (as far as I can see now) to run a slideshow and afterwards forget everything about this collection. I think it would be a great improvement to get the chance to save or export the work one has done using the lighttable. The purpose of the light-table is to compare different images; so creating a slideshow out of this was never considered. For the purpose you have in mind, I would recommend to use multiple selection in the icon view and associate a tag (Eg. "Slideshow Summer 08") to the selected image. What is missing at the moment is the possibility to re-order images of a given tag, see http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91562 > - or even export the listed files into one new directory to put this slidesh$ > and its set of photos to a stick or burn it to a CDROM. There is an Export to CD, though it does seem to only allow a given (physical) album, but not the image associated with a tag. > The only purpose of the lighttable is (as far as I can see now) to run a > slideshow and afterwards forget everything about this collection. o, the light-table is just meant to quickly compare images.... > I think it would be a great improvement to get the chance to save or export $ > work one has done using the lighttable. In my opinion, putting this into the light-table is not the right way. To me the proper approach would be: - allow tag association inside the light-table to *all* images (though I suspect that this would be a rarely used feature; assigning a tag to individual images is already possible) - allow to re-order images (wish exists in the BKO) - improve the CD export (might need a new wish in the BKO) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug. _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |

Dirk Langner <[hidden email]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[hidden email] --- Comment #3 from Dirk Langner <dirkolus gmx de> 2009-10-26 23:35:31 --- Sorry, I thought the last statement was final. If the light-table in digikam is not intended as an application to sort, remove, group, verify photos and get an overview about all pictures i.e. to build a slide show or picture collection, then I'm fine with it. In this case an appropriate application (or enhancement) would be extremely helpful, since I'm not aware of any app doing that (except an old OS2/3 shareware program). And here the sources of the light-table might be a beginning. In this case this is an RFE.
