Thanks Gilles, I'm reading up on that now.
The page seems to support some of my ideas for tweaking some of the menu
structure of Digikam. Too many primary menus for tools/batch and edit/album,
which all seem to have fairly similar functions. Also, having a File menu with
just the "Quit" option, when other apps have Import and Export on the File
menu...Just thinking out loud.

What filemenu? There is no file menu at all, look at the attached
screenshot...
