Digikam is already able to add GPS entries to JPEG images and it can extract
GPS data from the Exif header included in Olymps ORF files. Nevertheless it is
not possible to write geotags in this format. Please enable this feature.

It shouldn't be a great problem to do this, as other tools like geotag
(http://geotag.sourceforge.net/) already have GPS write support for ORF files.

First, thanks for the link to geotag project.

Second, this bug is invalid for digiKam project. All code which play with
metadata  come from Exiv2 library. ORF writting mode support must be
implemented in Exiv2 as  TIFF, DNG, NEF, and PEF is done for next Exiv2 0.18
release. Look my blog entry for details :

Please open a new file in exiv2 bugzilla about ORF writting mode support and
unforget link to geotag.

Johannes,

I forget to said that 0.10.0 release of digiKam is already able to geotag all
all items indexed from your collections using database. Informations are not
yet stored to ORF files, but at least you can geotag and procress searching
over a map.

Unforget that digiKam as a batch tool to sync file metadata with database. So,
when you will update Exiv2 with ORF writting mode support, GPS info will be
stored in files.
