I've noticed that a great way to fix these up is to apply a gamma correction of 1.5 or 2 (to make them brighter) followed by Color->AutoCorrection->Autolevels (to remove the "fog" which often arises after a gamma correction). However, right now, both functions are only available from the image editor, but not as batch commands. Would it be possible to add these as batch as well. I see that there is already an "Decrease Contrast" and "Increase Contrast" option, so why not add "Decrease (Gamma) Brightness" and "Increase (Gamma) Brightness". There also are batch actions for the "Normalize" and "Equalize" color correction options. But why aren't there any for "AutoLevels" and "AutoExposure" (which usually give much better results than Normalize and Equalize) _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |

I first would like to say that I think that digikam is a marvellous program. I really like to use it for my photos. I strongly agree with Alain Knaff on this issue. I often have a lot of new images fresh off the camera (typical snapshots of people, nothing fancy) and would love to run them through batch processing to let it do the autocorrection. When editing single images, most of the time the Autolevels function fits my purpose. It would be a great enhancement if this feature (and why not also others from the image/edit menu) would be implemented. I think digikam is a killer application. I use it on Ubuntu 7.10 with the Gnome desktop.
